Shield Hero

Note: There seems to be a minor bug with the movements. If you cannot move, refreshing the page should fix the issue!

Game made for LOWREZJAM 2022.

Just you and your shield against an endless swarm of enemies. Defeat enemies by dashing into them, get upgrades and survive as long as possible! Tip: Getting 3 of the same upgrades unlocks a unique upgrade. 

Controls:

• WASD/Arrow keys to move
• Mouse cursor to control direction of shield
• LMB to dash

Enemies so far:

Red guy - Just your basic red guy. Your best source of exp.

Rusher - Dashes towards you at the speed of light. Listen out for its spawn sound to not get caught off guard!

Circler - Encircles you and dashes towards you after awhile. Its charging period is its most vulnerable state!

Gunner - Stands at a distance and shoots you.  Defeat it as soon as possible if you do not want to get swarmed!

Some Upgrade clarification and spoilers:

Currently there are 6 kind of upgrades available,

1. Thorn damage - contact damage from shield, get 3 to unlock a 2nd shield
2. Dash damage - damage dealt on dash contact, get 3 to unlock permanent dashing
3. Shield size - increases shield size, get 3 to unlock bullet deflection
4. fire element - leaves a trail of fire, get 3 to unlock speed increase
5. ice element - periodically freezes enemies,  get 3 to unlock deep freeze
6. Health up - increases your max hp, get 3 to unlock health scaling damage
